Overall, Sweden experienced a downward trend, while Finland showed an upward trend throughout the period. Both countries had some fluctuations in divorce rates. Although Finland initially had a lower rate, it outraced Sweden at the end of the Sweden.
In 2011, Sweden’s divorce rate was about 45%, higher than Finland’s rate by approximately about 8%. The rate rose almost close to 50% in 2012. However, The graph illustrates a decreasing rate of 47% in 2013 and it continued steadily throughout the period by reaching about 45% in 2014 and hitting a lower point of 37% in 2015.
Finland’s had a divorce rate lower than 40% in 2011. It continued to decrease in 2012 by about 33% which is almost half of Sweden’s rate in that year. However, the Graph shows an increasing trend and it goes up to almost 40% in 2013. It continued for the next year with almost 41% in 2014 and remained constant for 2015.
