The bar chart depicts the numbers of both genders participating diverse evening courses at an adult education centre in the period of 2009. The pie chart illustrates the ages of individuals attending this course.
Overall, the bar chart shows that in each section, more women attended than men. And participants aged 50 or over accounted for a larger proportion than those in other age groups.
The bar chart was divided into four section (drama, painting, sculpture and language). For instance the number of women in drama recorded 20, while men presented 10. However, female participants in painting accounted for 30,while men reached approximately to 25. In sculpture this figure was significantly differs from other sections , for instance female attendees constituted nearly 5 and males formed the same figure with drama. Language corses were the most popular among women, with about 40 female participants.
According to pie chart, participants aged 50 or over made up the largest proportion, which was 42%. However the minimum percentage was represented people aged under 20, at 5%. Regarding the remaining age groups, people aged between 40 and 49 accounted for a considerable proportion, at 26%. This was followed by those aged 30-39, who made up 16% of the participants. Meanwhile, the 20-29 age group represented a slightly smaller share, at 11%
