The bar chart shows the percentage of Australian men and women who took part in regular physical activity across various age groups in 2010.
Overall, men were more physically active than women in most age groups, except for those aged 65 and over, where both genders had equal participation.
In the 15-24 age group, 58.8% of men were active compared to 47.7% of women. This pattern continued for the 25-34 age group, where 52.5% of men exercised, while only 39.5% of women did. Among 35-44-year-olds, 53.3% of men participated in physical activity, versus 41.1% of women. In the 45-54 age range, male participation was slightly higher at 53%, compared to 45.1% for women. However, 46% of men remained active in the 55-64 age group while female participation increased to 48%.
It is clear that for those aged 65 and over, both men and women had an equal participation rate of 47.1%, showing a change from the earlier trend where men were more active.
