The bar chart compares the proportion of citizens in Australia, according to their age groups and genders, who exercised frequently in 2010.
Overall, physical activities were mainly done by females of all ages, except for the 15-24 and over 65 brackets. Notably, those aged 65 and plus from both sexes recorded the same figure, while the opposite was true for the middle groups.
Regarding the two youngest and oldest age groups, about 52% of men aged 15 to 24 involved in these activities, slightly surpassing that of women (49%). In contrast, elderly people from both sexes constituted a fairly similar trend, at approximately 48%.
As for the remaining age groups, the share of females who fell in the 25-65 age bracket was relatively equal, ranging from 49% to 52%. Conversely, their males’ counterparts presented with smaller figures, at a range of 39% to 46%, with those at the age of 55-65 witnessed the highest figure.
