The bar chart illustrates the percentage of Australian men and women who engaged in regular physical activity across various age groups in 2010.
Overall, men were more physically active than women in most age groups, with the exception of those aged 65 and over, where both genders had equal participation rates.
In the 15-24 age group, 58.8% of men were active compared to 47.7% of women. This trend persisted in the 25-34 age group, where 52.5% of men exercised, while only 39.5% of women did. Among the 35-44 age group, 53.3% of men participated in physical activity, compared to 41.1% of women. In the 45-54 age range, male participation was slightly higher at 53%, while 45.1% of women took part in physical activity. However, in the 55-64 age group, 46% of men remained active, while female participation increased to 48%.
Notably, for those aged 65 and over, both men and women had an equal participation rate of 47.1%, indicating a shift from the earlier trend where men were generally more active.
