The graph illustrates information about regular exercise participation among males and females in six age groups in Australia in 2010.
Overall, it is apparent that men engaged in physical activities more regularly than women in the 15–24 age group. However, the opposite trend was observed for the 25–64 age groups, while the participation rate in the 65 and over age group was similar for both genders.
Looking at the graph in more detail, women exhibited an upward trend in regular exercise participation from ages 15 to 64, with a slight decrease in the 65 and over group. There was a noticeable difference between males and females in the 35–64 age groups; women had a higher participation rate, at approximately 53%, while the rate for men was about 10% lower.
For the 15–24 age group, there was only a marginal difference between the genders. Males participated in exercise more commonly than females in this group, with rates of approximately 53% and 48%, respectively. Interestingly, there was little difference between genders in the 65 and above age group, with both at around 47%.
