Overall, it is clearly seen that Portugal’s government represented the highest spending percentage, while the UK’s government made up the lowest percentage throughout the period. Italy’s government showed fluctuation on spending percentages, but the USA’s government spending represented a stable pecentage over the period.
To begin with, Portugal’s government and Italy’s government showed significantly decreased between 1990 and 2005. Portugal’s government and Italy’s government declined from around 27% and 20% in 1990 to 15% and almost13% in 2005. However, from 2000 to 2005 the spending percentage of Italy slightly increased to almost 2% and showed 13%.
Regarding the lowest spending categorie, the UK’ government and the USA’ government represented around 12% and 14% in 1990. In the UK, the amount of spending money declined from it’s peak around 15% in 1995 to almost 7% in 2005, while the USA’s government represented a stable percentage over the period which was around 15%.
