The bar chart illustrates the proportion of New Zealander men and women in different age groups who regularly participated in physical activity in 2010.
It is immediately evident that except amateurs with age between 14 and 23, women were engaged in physical activity more than men.
Specifically, 51.7% of young men participated in active lifestyle, which was more that the half of that group, whereas only 46.9% of young women did so. In contrast, in all other groups the proportion of women engaging in physical activities was more than that of men. In fact, in three groups, from 34 to 43, from 44 to 53, and from 54 to 63 more than half of the women regularly participated in various sports.
The biggest difference between percentages of men and women was in group of people between 34 and 43 years: 53.1% of women did physical activity while only 38.8% of men did so.
In the group of people who are 64 and above, figures were approximately the same: 47.2% for men and 48.1% for women.
