Overall, while the percentage of participation of men in IBM was quite low at first, it showed an upward trend after three decades, holding the highest proportion among the surveyed companies. In addition, the figure for other companies just rises gradually.
The ratio of male participants in IBM was the lowest at only 3%; in contrast, it increased significantly to over 60% in 2010. Furthermore, the percentage of Microsoft had increased from under 10% but at a low degree to 15% over 20 years, then it was three times higher in 2010.
By contrast, the percentage of males in senior development at Apple underwent slight fluctuations around 15% in 1980, went up to 20% in 1995, and reached 25% in 2010 after decreasing to under 20% in 2000
