Overall, rock music was the most popular music genre because of having significant number of sales from each age group. Classical music was preferred more by older generations, while pop music was sold more by young people.
Pop music had the record between 16-22 age group by was sold to roughly 5 million young people. While people get older to 32-45 age group, pop music popularity increased, however 3 million of over 58 age groups sold pop music records. Classical music was sold by mostly over 58 age groups, while it was sold the least by the younger generation.
Rock music had fans from all age groups, having at least 3 million sales. Jazz music also followed the same pattern, with at least 2-3 million sales of each age group.
