The bar chart illustrates the sales in five categories (clothing, household items, garden, electrical equipment and children’s toy) in the UK over four seasons in 2015.
Overall, we can be seen that the majority of the expenditure was allocated to clothing. Furthermore, the sale of children’s toy was the smallest in the first three reasons, while it increased significantly in the winter.
Regarding the increasing categories, the amount of money spent on clothing always was the highest over four reasons. In which, it started at £100000 then decreased to around £70000 in the autumn, after that it reached a peak at above £110000 in the last season. In addition, the sale in children’s toy began at roughly £30000 and hit a low to £20000 in the summer, then it tripled in the winter. During the first three reasons, around £60000 was spent on electrical equipment, and then went up to £80000 in the final reason of the year.
Concerning the remaining categories, the expenditure in household items declined gradually in 2015, beginning with £80000 and ending at under £50000. The amount of money spent on household items was equal to electrical equipment at £60000. Finally, there was a slight fluctuation in the money spent on garden in the first three seasons at approximately £40000 and equaled with children’s toy in the autumn. After that, it increased dramatically at £60000 in the winter.
