The bar chart shows the proportion in energy consumption of North America and South America in 2007. Overall, the figures are uneven. Notably, there is a small difference in the percentage of oil consumption in two areas.
The most striking feature of the chart is that oil consumption took up the most in two areas. While South America’s oil consumption was higher than that of North America, the range was only 4%. Similarly, South America consumed more hydroelectric than North America, with a substantial difference of 23%.
Conversely, North America surpassed South America in terms of nuclear, coal, and natural gas consumption. While there was a marginal difference in the proportion of natural gas consumption (4%),the other two energies were opposite. North America consumed four times more coal (20%) than South America (5%). Interestingly, North America’s percentage of nuclear consumption was nine times higher than that of South America, with 9% and 1%, respectively.
