From an overall perspective, it is noticeable that the two levels of schooling experienced different trends. South Korea had the largest class sizes in both schools, while Iceland had the smallest.
As for Japan, the average primary class consisted of 26 students, whereas the secondary class size was slightly bigger with 31 students on average. In South Korea, the class size of primary school (34) was lower than that of secondary school (36).
In terms of the UK and Denmark, both countries had slightly higher numbers of students in primary school (23 and 21 respectively) than in secondary school (22 and 9 respectively).
Turning to the remaining statistics, in Mexico, the average primary class size was 27 students, which was about 5 students fewer than in secondary school. Iceland recorded the smallest classroom sizes, with 15 students in primary and 17 in secondary school. The world average stood at 27 students in primary school and just under 25 in secondary school.
