The chart gives information about the shares of four different activities in Australia by gender in 2010.
Overall, it is clear that the percentage of boys who played football was the most common, followed by that of swimming, basketball, and netball in descending order, while the opposite was true for girls in football, basketball, swimming, and netball in ascending order. Notably, football and basketball were more chosen by boys than the other two.
Looking at the chart in more detail, 20% of men preferred to play football, making it the highest point in the chart. As for women, this kind of hobby was played five times less than that of boys. When it comes to netball, it was responsible for nearly 18% of girls, being the most popular among them, compared to only 3% for boys, making it the least opted-for sport.
Regarding the remaining activities, basketball was played by about 8% of boys, as opposed to 7% for girls. Finally, swimming constituted the majority of people; 16% of women opted for it, while 13% did so for men. In addition, there were people who did none of these sports. The proportion of those was approximately 4% and 5% for boys and girls, respectively.
