The given chart illustrates three proportions of daily fruit and vegetable consumers, including men, women and children, in Britain between 2001 and 2008. In general, it is obvious that there was an upward trend in all the compared figures over the timeframe. Meanwhile, fruits and vegetables had been the most favored by the female group.
As can be seen from the graph, the percentage of women ate the mentioned foodstuffs stood at around 20% at the beginning stage and continously grew to the peak of 35% in the next 5 years. However, a slight drop of 5% was seen in the consumers’ ratio in 2008.
By constract, in the year 2001, the rates of children and men consumed fruits and vetagetables daily were respectively reported at 12% and 18%, which were lower by one-tenth than that of women. Then, both figures remarkably rose by nearly a half in 5 years later. Finally, at the end of the timeframe, while proportion of the male’s consumption reach a plateu about 27%, that of junior one experienced a gradual increase to about 24%.
