The chart illustrates the percentages of the workforce of five different main industries in Canada between 1850 and 2020.
The overall trend shows various percentages of the five main industries where all industries affected by a fall in percentages from 1850 to 2020 with an exception for Services and Construction and the other three industries revealed a dramatic decline throughout the period of 1850 to 2020.
In more details, Manufacturing and Services started with nearly same percentage 36% and 33% but they had different turn in 2020, Manufacturing made a significant fall to 9% in contrast with Services that had a massive resurgence to the highest percentage across all industries in 2020 with 81%.
The other three industries had shown a low percentage compared to the Manufacturing and Services, However, Construction is the only industry across the three industries that made a slight increase from 5% in 1850 to 8% in 2020, on the other hand, Agriculture/Fishing and Energy/Water made a drop in percentages, the first from 22% to 1% and the latter from 3% to 1% from 1850 to 2020.
