In 1970, the proportion of men employed was highest in Japan into four different countries about 85%. Nevertheless, this figure decreased to 74% in 2000, it was still the highest among all countries. Following behind Japan are Belgium and Australia, the number of men working in 1970 was 79% and 76%. However, in Belgium, this figure plunged to 19% in 2000 and in Australia also dropped to 47% in 2000. Last country was USA, with 73% of men worked in 1970, this number reduced about 55% in 2000
In contrast, the number of women working in four countries quite lower than men. In Belgium, women who worked only about 8% by 1970, after that, this figure reduced slowly to 7% by 2000. However, USA and Japan were higher than two countries, with rate of 36% and 43% by 1970 and this figure quite similar at around 39% and 40% in 2000. Finally, Australian women employed about 16% by 1970 and 18% by 2000.
