The percentage of overweight males and females in Australia is represented by the bar chart for the duration of 1980 to 2010. Overall, it can be seen that less population of women was overweight, when compared to men’s population; however, by 2010, men’s population shown decrease in being overweight but women have shown stable or increasing pattern.
According to the men’s bar chart, nearly 50% of the men’s population was overweight, in 1980. This trend was followed by an increase that, in 1990, the overweight percentage of men was more than 50%. Overall, men’s population showed an increase by 2000, that 70% of men were overweight; however, by 2010, men’s population showed a decrease in being overweight majority and only 65% of men were overweight in 2010.
The bar chart provided for women shows the increasing pattern of women being overweight. Over the three decades, women’s overweight percentage was 30% in 1980, followed by 40% in 1990, and finally 50% in 2000. Women’s chart did not demonstrated a decrease in percentage, but it does reflects the stability in 2010, as same percentage of women were overweight as in 2000.
