The bar chart illustrates the changes in the percentages of energy produced by renewable energy sources in four different countries – Australia, Germany, Norway, and Iceland- across three years: 2000, 2004, and 2007. Overall, Norway and Iceland produced a much higher proportion of renewable energy than other countries, while the opposite occurred for Australia and Germany. Notably, Norway was a leading country in producing renewable energy in the three years.
Looking at the higher figures first, 60% of renewable energy of the total supply was generated by Norway in 2000, closely followed by Iceland at 50%. The former then noticeably rose to around 78% by 2007, retaining its dominant position. Similarly, energy supplying from renewable energy sources in Iceland increased slightly to almost 60% in 2004, whereas this trend then decreased by approximately 3% by 2007.
In contrast, Australia and Germany produced less energy than the other countries. The percentage of energy production from renewable sources in Germany slightly increased, rising from about 10% in 2000 to almost 18% in 2007. This trend for Australia fluctuated between 10 % from 2000 to 2007.
