The given bar chart presents information on the amount of students persuing music in further education in an unknown university in Australia, over a 6-year period, while the accompanying pie chart demonstrates the career paths they choose upon completing their studies.
It is clear from the bar chart that male attendance was flactuating, while female attendance followed an upward trend. More specifically, at the beginning of the examined period,in 2000, both genders were represented equally at 20%.Over the years female attendance experienced a constant growth reaching its peak, accounting for 60% respectively, in 2006. It is worth noting that, despite some variability and reaching a significant drop to 10% in 2004, male enrollment recovered to its initial level of 20% by the end of the surveyed period.
Regarding the pie chart, the most noticiable feature is that just over half of the students that completed their studies in music followed an alternative occupation. The remaining 45% of the graduates was split between a same career path and a similar one, with the first making up at 20% and the latter at 25%.
Overall, while female participation in music education steadily increased, male participation saw fluctuations but ultimately stabilized. The career paths that the music graduates opted for vary, but the majority of them choose a totally different line of work.
