This bar graph describes the data of percentage of members participating in different faculties and universities. The aim of this report is to present the differences in quantity between two gender, including period of 2008 year.
According to the data the majority of interviewed females are studying at the faculty of history, while the minority of females chose the faculty of engineering. The second most popular option was arts, more than 50 percent selected this option. The third leading department is medicine, around 55% of females are learning medicine. In addition, astronomy, law and science division chose less than 40 percent of interviewed. At the contrast, the widely of male that was interviewed selected the engineering faculty, and only 30% of males participating history division. The majority chose science and astronomy faculties. Fewer people are studying arts and medicine. The most unpopular department became the history faculty, only a quarter participating this division.
Based on the results, it is certain that in the period of 2008 the most preferred department among female is history and among male is engineering. One possible explanation of this results may be that women is more interested in subjects of culture and social studies, such as history, while men tend to learn technical subjects and practical areas, such as engineering.
It is recommended that universities ought to provide equal opportunities for both genders and address this imbalance on people’s choices.
