Overall, there were significant differences in the scientific qualification in both countries. Among Malaysians, no qualifications in science were significant, with approximately 65% rate, while 60% of Singaporeans had no qualifications in science. Likewise, School leaving exams as qualifications were also high among Malaysians, with accounting for around 35%, compared to 30% of Singaporeans.
Conversely, the proportion of Bachelor’s degree as qualification was held more by Singaporeans, at 20%, constituting twice the percentage of the Malaysians holding the same degree, at 10%. The figures for Master’s degree in science were similar in both countries, with both standing at lower than 10%, making them the smallest percentages among the qualifications listed.
In summary, the number of people without any science qualifications was slightly higher in Malaysia than in Singapore, followed by qualification based on School leaving exams. However, Bachelor’s degree in science was considerably higher in Singapore. Interestingly, Master’s degrees were the least common qualification in both countries.
