The bar graph illustrates how the values of Southland’s three main exports – international tourism, dairy products, and meat products – changed between 2000 and the current year, and future projections for 2025.
Overall, it is clear that the value of international tourism has increased constantly since 2000 and will rise in 2025, while the demand for meat products declined gradually and is predicted to continue to do so. Dairy products show significant growth between 2000 and the current year and will remain a large export category with a slight decrease.
Looking at the bar graph in more detail, we can observe that international tourism was the largest export category at approximately £8 billion in 2000 and is anticipated to reach about £10 billion in 2025. The value of dairy products recorded a dramatic increase by roughly £3 billion; also, there is a possibility of a slight reduction in 2025. Meat products was the smallest export category with £6 billion generated in 2000, and the value will keep dropping until 2025.
