The bar chart illustrates information about how long it takes for children aged between 11 and 16 in the UK to go to school in a one-year period.
Overall, most children in the UK choose to go to school by walking for shorter journeys and for long journeys they prefer to use a bus.
First of all, there are 90 percent of journeys with up to 1 mile, around 60% of journeys with 1-2 miles, and just over 20% of journeys with 2-5 miles are by walk. Secondly, there are just under 70% of trips with more than 5 miles, 50% of trips with 2-5 miles, 10% of trips with 1-2 miles, and near zero percent of trips with up to 1 mile are by bus. There are also children who travel to school by car, but the percentage is below 30%. Only children who have trips with 2 to 5 miles by car have a percentage just over 30%.
