The provided bar charts show information about the number of hours married men and women spend per week on unpaid work.
As a whole, married women doing unsalaried work show an upward trend, both without children and with children. The opposite trend was true for married men.
As can be seen in the chart, when women do not have children, their workload of unpaid work is only 30 hours per week. But when women have children aged 1 and 2, the time spent increases by 20 hours compared with no children; specifically, to 50 hours. Finally, with children aged 3 and up, it peaks at 90 hours per week.
The amount of time men spend doing household chores is less than women. So, first, when spouses are not with a baby, the weekly hours of unpaid work are nearly 20 hours; this is the same when they have children aged 1 and 2. The change for men with young children aged 3 and up is slightly decreased.
