The bar chart shows the amount of free time per week enjoyed by males and females of five categories of employment status, between 1998 and 1999.
It is clear that men enjoyed more hours of leisure time per week than women in three out of five categories and only two categories for women especially employed(part time) and housewives.
Full time employed men had a slightly more leisure time than women (full time employed) with 45 hours free time per week, compared to around 38 hours. Obviously, unemployed and retired both genders took pleasure in the most hours of spare time. Namely, the figures for retired males and females are equal to unemployed, at around 85 and 78 hours, respectively.
However, housewives enjoyed 50 hours of free time per week, little bit different from the amount of part time workers’ leisure time who had just over 40 leisure hours each week
