However, the gap between the UK and France was quite similar, spending about 43 and 40 billion dollars, respectively. As for the Asian countries, specifically, Russia was budgeting about 30 billion dollars, with Canada being the lowest in contrast to other countries.
Coming to 2012, figures saw a slight upward trend, for example, China has raised its funding to 100 billion, whereas Germany and the US decreased by 2 to 3 billion dollars.
