In 1995, Indonesia demonstrated the highest consumption of rice st around 90 kilograms. This number increased dramatically to a peak of around 130 kilograms in 2005. However, thus Figure declined steadily to around 120 kilograms by 2015
Whereas,China had a consumption rate of 60 kilograms per year at the start of the period. This number increased consistently over the following decade to a peak of around 90 kilograms and the declined steadily to 70 kilograms by 2015.
Meanwhile India recorded the lowest consumption rate of around 59 kilograms at the start of the period. The number rose to about 60 kilograms in 2000 and then remained relatively constant for half a decade before it fluctuated
Overall, over the period the consumption of rice showed an increase in the first decade and later de lining in the second decade.Another noticeable feature is that China had the highest consumption rate throughout the period.
