Overall, both groups spent most of their time watching TV. In addition, the old group spent more time than the old group watching TV, reading, relaxing while the opposite was true for socializing, playing games, and sports.
In 2015, people aged 75+ spent the average of 4.5 hours per day watching TV, while people aged 15-19 spent the average of 2.4 hours. People aged 75+ also allocated more time reading , at 1 hour per day , compared to the young people , at 0.2 hours. The older group spent far more time relaxing than the younger group, at 0.6 and 0.1 hours, respectively.
On the other hand, the younger generation spent over twice as much time on the computer , at 1.1 hours , as the older generation , at 0.5 hours . Sports , exercise and recreation were favoured by the younger group , with 15-19-year-olds spending an average of 0.6 hours while the older group spent the average of 0.3 hours. It is worth noticing that both groups spent a similar amount of time socializing and communicating , accounting for around 0.7 hours a day.
