The chart depicts the average daily hours spent on paid work and household tasks by married men and women across two age groups.

It is evident that married women work more total hours per day than married men in both age categories. This is largely due to the increased number of hours women spend on paid work, especially in the 45-64 age group where they work the longest hours of all.

Men aged 25-44 work slightly more hours on paid work than those aged 45-64, but this number is considerably higher when compared to women of the same age group.

Women in the 25-44 age group work almost equal hours inside and outside of the home. This trend continues in the 45-64 age group, though the difference becomes more notable. On the other hand, men work approximately three times as many hours outside of the home as they do inside in both age groups.
