In 2003. the number of burglary reached around 3400 incidents while the number of car theft was less than 3000. In 2004, burglary rose to approximately 3700 incidents but nothing mach has changed for the number of car being stolen. For the next following years, burglary incidents has decreased to less than 1400. However, the rates of car theft increased more, almost reaching 8000 incidents in 2012.

Robbery is the less common type of crime that happened during these year. In 2008, there are only 600 to 700 number of incidents and even ended up at the same number by 2012. However, there were several changes such as growing number in 2005 but decreasecl again in the next year.

In conclusion, the biggest rate of crime in Newport city was burglary, while the least type of criminal noted is robbery. In addition, 2004 is the year where the total of the crime incidentnis higher compared to the other years.
