The bar chart illustrates the different levels of Australian post-school qualification as well as the percentage of gender in 1999.
Overall, the percentage of males were higher in skilled vocational diploma, postgraduate diploma and master’s degree, whilst the proportion of female were higher in undergraduate diploma and bachelor’s degree. In skilled vocational diploma, males had the highest percentage while female occupied the lowest percentage among all categories, with around 90% and 10%, respectively.
The proportion of males in postgraduate diploma was 70%, which was 10% higher than in master’s degree. Percentage of males in bachelor’s degree was just under a half, which is also approximately 10% higher than in undergraduate diploma.
On the other hand, females occupied the highest percentage in undergraduate diploma among all categories, which was 70%. This proportion was almost double of the females in postgraduate diploma. Percentage of females in master’s degree was just under 40%, whilst the proportion in Bachelor’s degree was just over half.
