The bar chat illustrates how many individuals were employed in five different types of work in a particular region of Australia in two years: 2001 and 2008.
Overall, sales had the highest employment rate in both years, whereas the minority did farming. Additionally, the figure for computing increased significantly, while that for accounting declined noticeably.
In 2001, sales employed the highest number of about 160,000 people, followed by accounting at a substantially smaller number of approximately 65,000 workers. Farming was the least popular occupation at the beginning of the period, reaching just below 40,000. Meanwhile, computing and nursing accounted for around 60,000 people, with the computing being slightly higher.
By 2008, sales remained the most popular industry for employment, increasing by around 10,000. The most noticeable surge was observed in computing, with the figure rising to almost 80,000 individuals by the end of the period, becoming the second most popular type of work. Meanwhile, accounting and farming employment rates dropped slightly, while nursing slightly increased by 2008.
