Overall, Sales remained the largest employed in sector in both years, while Farming consistently had the fewest workers. Notably, Computing and Nursing increased over the period, whereas Accounting and Farming experienced declines.
In detail, Sales had the largest number of people, surged from approximately 150,000 in 2001 to around 165,000. By contrast, Farming had the smallest employment, decreasing dramatically from about 25,000 to just under 18,000.
Accounting also saw a reduction in jobs, falling from roughly 65,000 in 2001 to around 58,000 in 2008. On the other hand, Computing demonstrated significant increase in chart. This trend climbed from approximately 55,000 to nearly 75,000, making it one of the fastest-growing sectors during this period. Similarly, Nursing showed moderate increase, rising slightly from about 55,000 to 60,000.
