The bar chart illustrates the proportion of total car sales attributed to four different regions including Asia, Europe, North America and South America between 2006 and 2010.
Overall, Asia experienced an upward trend over the five-year period, eventually becoming the dominant region by 2010. In contrast, while North America saw a sharp decline, Europe and South America exhibited moderate and minor fluctuations.
In 2006, Europe accounted for the highest proportion of the company’s car sales, standing at 34%, this was followed by North America at 30% and Asia at 25%. However, South America contributed the smallest share, with just 11%.
From that point onwards, sales in Asia rose steadily, peaking at 50% in 2020, overtaking all other regions. Meanwhile, North America witnessed a significant drop in its share, falling to 9% by the end of the period. Notably, Europe’s sales percentage initially increased to 38% in 2008 but subsequently declined to 30% in 2010. Furthermore, the share of car sales in South America fell to just only 5% in 2009 before rebounding to 11% a year later, returning to its starting point.
