Overall, there was an increase in the percentage of people of all ages using the internet in the given time frame. Additionally, while adults falling into the 16 to 24 age group utilized the internet the most, the opposite was true for those over 65.
Concerning the main internet users, at the start of the period, 80% of people aged 16-24 accessed the internet daily. This figure remained unchanged until 2005, there was a surge in the popularity of internet among this age group, with 100% of people using it, followed by a slight decrease to around 90% in the final year. Meanwhile, in 2003, 60% of people in the age range of 45 to 54 took part in the internet, compared to around 45% for those aged 25-44. Subsequently, the proportions of these two age groups rose steadily in the following years, ending the period with the same rate, at around 80%.
Regarding the remaining age categories, starting the period with 30%, the percentage of 55-to 64-year-olds adults fluctuated in the following two years at around 33 to 35%, before reaching its record-high to approximately 50% in 2006. Notably, the internet was the least prevalent among people over 65, with roughly 18% of them was recorded using the internet in 2004 and increased by 2-3 percents in the final year.
