The bar chart illustrates the proportion of Australian juveniles in three groups participating in four kinds of activities in 2018. Overall, it is noticeable that watching TV was the most preferred, while playing computer games was not popular. Additionally, the youngest ones accounted for the largest proportion of all the activities.
Specifically, children aged 5-8 years old made up the largest percentage in watching TV, at nearly 100%, whereas other activities such as reading, plating computer games and riding bikes attracted around 60% children at average.
With regard to the other two groups, kids aged 9-11 and 12-16 years old had identical figures for watching TV and reading, at 80% and approximately 65%, respectively. Likewise, participants of these ages made up similar proportions in playing computer games, at about 60%. However, the oldest ones exceeded children aged 9-11 years old by nearly 20% in riding bikes, at just over 80% compared to 60% of younger ones.
