In 2010, the USA had the greatest share of connected households (72%), followed closely by the UK at 68%. Germany and Japan showed similar levels of access at 65% and 60% respectively, whereas Brazil lagged far behind at just 35%. By 2015, the USA and the UK had both increased their figures substantially, reaching 86% and 82%. Germany and Japan also experienced moderate growth, with internet access rising to 78% and 75% correspondingly. Brazil, although still at the bottom, saw a significant jump to 55%.
By 2020, all countries had reached notably high levels of connectivity. The USA peaked at 95%, remaining the leading country, with the UK close behind at 91%. Germany and Japan continued their upward trend, reaching 88% and 85% respectively. Brazil, while still the lowest at 78%, almost doubled its 2010 figure and showed the most dramatic overall increase.
