The pie chart demonstrates the proportion of student from different countries at Tertiary level in global destinations in 2006.
Overall, it is clear that while Canada had the lowest proportion of students, the highest percentage of international students was in all other countries. Another notable feature was in Germany and France, as they had the same share.
Roughly 23 percent of all other countries was the largest proportion, followed by the United States share, representing around 22 percent. Interestingly, the proportion of students in other countries was higher that of the US just by 1 percent. Similarly, Japan share was lower than the percentage of student in China by 1 percent (5 percent and 6 percent respectively). Regarding the UK share, it made up 14 percent, which was twice as high as the percentage of international students in Australia, accounting for 7 percent.
Focusing on the smallest proportions, the lowest percentage was in Canada, accounting for only 3 percent, followed by China, which represented 6 persent. Another notable feature was in France and Germany, as they represented the same percentage (10 percent).
