This chart represents the proportion of people who consumed five portions of fruit and vegetables daily in the UK over the period of 2001 and 2008.
Overall,The figure shows that women consumed fruit and vegetable more than men and children and children in all years.However, the graph showed a growth in eating fruit and vegetables in all categories( men,women and children) over the period.
The percentage of women who ate fruit and vegetable start at over 20% in 2001 then rose steadily over the period until it peaked at about 35% before it dropped in the last two years reaching approximately 33% and 31% respectively.
In terms of men and children, the proportions remained stable in the first three years ( about 17% and 12%) respectively.Then, the percentage of men increased gradually peaked at about 29% in the years 2006 and 2007. Likewise,the proportion of children kept rising until it reached over % 26 in 2007,subsequently fell slightly in 2008 at about 23%.
