The given chart illustrates the precentage of individuals who has five portions of fruit and vegetables in their daily diet in the UK between 2001 and 2008.
Overall, the percentage of people’s consumptions of fruit and vegetables in the UK adhered to rising trends for all period, but two last years. While women generally had higher level of the intake vegetables and fruit, followed by men, the children remained at the bottom, despite a gradual increase.
The women and the men shared highest level of percentage of consumption in the initial year, having almost 22 and 17 percentage respectively. After that, the percentage of the consumption among the women had a slightly grow from 22 to 27 itself in 2003, while intake among men had stable situation with 17 percentage from 2001 to 2003. From that year on, the consumption of fruit and vegetables among the female group had a significant increase, followed by the male group from 27 to 40 and 22 to 28 respectively between 2003 and 2006. After that trend, both the female and the male group had a slight fall to 30 and 27 percenatge respectively in 2008.
The intake among the gorup of youth, however, had the lowest level for all period. Starting about 13 percentage, the consumption of vegetables and fruit had stability for 3 years. After that, it had a rupidly grow for 3 years from 2004 to 2006 and maintained 29 percentage in 2006. From that year on, the intake among the group of children had a steady fall to 26 percentage in 2008.
