The given pie charts illustrate the proportion of various activities busy people consume in a certain nation in both 1958 and 2008. Overall, it can be seen that there are grow-up trends in working, relaxing at home and traveling to work, while the other sectors experienced inverse trends. Obviously, the leading position was constantly taken by working, followed by sleeping in the second place throughout the surveyed period.
According to both of the two charts, the number of working had slight growth, climbing from 33% to 42%. Although sleeping also witnessed a slight change, in the opposite direction, it declined from 32% to 25%. Going out with their beloved dropped dramatically by 25%, from 29% to 4%. Without a doubt, going out with their beloved supplanted traveling to work as the minority of working people’s activities, while working remained top.
On the other hand, the three remaining sectors equally had marginal grow-up trends. To illustrate, traveling to work increased by 6%, from 2% to 8%, and relaxing at home rose by 5%, from 8% to 13%. Likewise, the figures of other interests or playing sports also saw a marginal growth from 6% to 8%, which was much more trivial than the others.
