Overall, the ratio of waste recycled saw an upward trend. Furthermore, recycled glass took the lion’s share in 3 years. While, plastic was the smallest reused item.
It can be seen that in the first year, glass was recycled at about 18%, then it increased dramatically to around 32% in 1992 and it still grew gradually to approximately 48% in the final year. In terms of paper, it took up about 15% in 1992, then it still rose consistently to about 28% in 1992. In the final year, the paper which was reused increased to about 38%.
With respect to plasti, it took up just 10% in the first year. Furthermore, it accounted for approximately 12% and remained unchanged in the following years. Regarding to the final category, cans was the highest figure in the fist year, at around 19%. However, it dropped slightly to about 15% in the next 5 years and it finally climbed gradually to roughly 28% in 2022.
