The bar chart presents the number of representatives of two genders students who studied six arts-based academic programs at a higher education institution in the UK in 2011.
In general, if we count the total number of students attending each discipline, Linguistics, English language and literature, Arts & Design and Communication and media studies are frequently visited by students, whereas Psychology History and Archaeology are fewer favourite students subjects.
English language and literature had the highest enrolment, with approximately 250 male and 230 female students. The second most popular lecture is Linguistics with nearly 180 male and 240 female students. The third study that attracted learners was Communication & Media lessons, with around 175 male and 155 female undergraduates.
On the other hand, the number of students that enrolled in Philosophy was over 150 for female and approximately a third for male students. Finally, in the Art & Design course, male students were around 153 people. The number of female students who enrolled on the latter course was marginally higher, with just 5-7 additional students
