The chart provided below depicts the proportions of the world’s oil resources held in different areas, together with the proportions consumed annualy in the same areas.
Overall, with some exeptions, we can see division between consuming and providing regions.
For instance, Middle east holds 56.52% of the whole world’s oil, but consumes only 6.15% annually. Canada demonstrates similar tendancy, just in smaller quantities. Holding 14.84% of world’s oil reserve, Canada consumes only 2.48% of it.
Very contrasting picture is seen in Asia, United States and Western Europe. Asia takes 26.21%, but barely holds 2.89%; the States consume 25.48% but hold only 1.85% and Western Europe needs 19.24% on holds 0.3% of the world total oil resources.
It is worth mentioning, that there are some regions, which hovers more or less sustainably. Eastern Europe demonstrates virtually no difference between the demand and resources. In addition, South America holds slightly more (8.12%), than it consumes annualy (6.7%). Lastly, Africa holds almsot as twice much as it need.
