The chart illustrates the percentage of young people’s expectations regarding how five different aspects of life will be after 20 years in a European survey.
What is notable from the chart is that all expectations were anticipated to worsen by a larger proportion of young Europeans, the exception is communication between people. Among all the predictions, interpersonal communication had the highest percentage of participants thinking it would be improved, whereas the highest percentage indicating deterioration belonged to air quality in cities.
Regarding communication between people, more survey respondents thought that it would be better than worse, with respective figures being 54% and 46%. Conversely, there were 51% of young Europeans predicting that food quality would decline, while only 49% expected improvement. Similarly, three-fifths of responders foresaw the quality of water would have decreases, in comparison to the 40% of those who had the opposite thoughts
In term of the quality of air in cities, the proportion of individuals surveyed who believed that it would have pessimistic changes accounted for 77%, while the figure for positive opinions is considerably lower, at 23%. The similar pattern was seen in heath sector which was predicted to diminish by more people in the survey than who supposed it would be enhanced in the future, as their coresponding figures stood at 58% and 42%.
