The chart offer insights about survey that showing young people’s expectations for five different aspects of life over decades in Europe. Overall, the majority of respondents predicted a downward expectations in most areas, with the exception of interpersonal communication.
The data reveals that communication between people was the only aspect that more respondents expected to improve rather than downward. It’s clear that 54% of young Europeans anticipated that communication would get better, compared to 46% who thought it would deteriorate. In contrast, other aspects such as food quality and water quality were generally seen in a more negative tendency.
When it comes to food quality, 51% of respondents foresaw a decline, while 49% expected improvement, indicating a fairly divided opinion. Similarly, when it came to water quality, a clear majority of 60% predicted a decrease in quality, with only 40% expecting it to improve. One of the most pessimistic expectations were for air quality in cities, with a significant 77% of young Europeans expecting it to worsen, while only 23% believed it would get better. A similar predictions were seen in the health sector, where 58% of respondents expected deterioration, and 42% hoped improvements.
