Overall, theme parks were visited by the highest number of tourists, whereas wildlife parks and zoos were the least favourite tourist attractions throughout the period given. Moreover, Blackpool Pleasure Beach was the most popular destination among the other theme parks, while Chessington World of Adventures and Lagoland, Windsor had the same fewest percentages in 1999.
To begin with, theme parks accounted for approximately four-fifths, which was closely followed by museums and galleries, with 37% in 1999. However, historic houses and monuments represented 16%, while people exhibited an obvious reluctance to wildlife parks and zoos, with just below one in ten visiting percentage.
Almost one out of two people who were eager to visit the theme parks choosed to Blackpool Pleasure Beach among the others. Alton towers and Pleasureland Southport attracted similar proportion of people, they were 17% and 16%, respectively. With regars to the remaining attractions, Chessingon World of Adventures and Legoland Windsor made up 10%.
