The pie chart illustrates the outcome of a survey about the number of travellers who visit four categories of tourist destination and five different theme parks in Britain in 1999.
Overall, it is clear that the theme park was by far the most prevalent touristy place among visitors. Also similar was the Black pool pleasure beach, which witnessed the most travellers in the theme park sector.
Looking at the information in more detail, theme parks and museums & galleries occupied the most and second largest proportion of surveyed people, with 38% and 37% respectively. Following that came with the percentage of historic houses and monuments, with 16%. Wildlife parks & zoos was the least favourited fragment with the proportion of 9%.
Breaking down the theme parks sector, Blackpool pleasure beach comprised nearly half of the percentage of surveyed visitors ( 48%). Additionally, alton towers accounted for the proportion of 17% visitors, that of Pleasureland in Southport was not far behind with 16%. Finally both Chessington World of Adventure and Legolan Winsor made up the same number of 10% surveyed tourist for each.
