The bar graph illustrates the water levels in reservoirs by different cities in Australia in October 2009 and the same month in 2010.
In general, whilst water levels in Perth, Darwin, Canberra and Melbourne experienced an increase within the given year, figures in Brisbane decreased and maintained stable in Sydney.
To be more specific, in Perth, Darwin, Canberra and Melbourne water levels started at 32%, 70%, 52% and 70%, respectively, surged to 42%, 80%, 71% and 79% with the statistics in Melbourne ranking the first among all the investigated cities. On the contrary, figures in Brisbane declined from 39% to 30%, which made its water level the lowest compared to others. Additionally, water levels in Sydney maintained the same in October 2009 and October 2010.
To make a further comparison, water level in Perth, which was the lowest one in October 2009, surpassed the level in Brisbane in 2010 because of its rise by nearly 10%. On the other hand, water levels in Melbourne and Darwin were the same in 2009, however, the level of Melbourne became the highest due to its increase by 19%.
